They already get a price break on the license. By choosing to participate in a very expensive program, the should be expected to shoulder their fair share of the cost.

Quick-strike rigs for lake trout?No I just use a tube and a tube jighead and tie my leader to the jighead eye. I also add a small treble stinger to the main tube hook though. Bait with any oily baitfish. Around here I use fresh suckers or if I can't find fresh sucker frozen anchovy works great. But smelt or whitefish work too. Logged

The trout in that case seem to bite on power bait the most. Usually the orange or the rainbow style. We fish a location where the channel is and run a line of holes from the shallow on one side, right across the channel and up to the shallow on the other side. It's 4 or 5 feet down to about 12. Fish about 12 to 18 inches off the bottom.

Our main goal is to find some lake trout but would also like to get some pike if they are around. I would be willing to sacrifice the convenience of being right by our house if the lake trout/pike fishing dramatically improves in a different area.
